NEW FORMAT FESTIVAL

The first edition of Materia Prima brought together almost five thousand spectators. It attracted enthusiasts of form theatre, interested in the event’s original concept. It was also very well received by the media – both in Poland and worldwide.

Materia Prima is a unique festival, characterised by its:

We showcase the genre’s classics and avant-garde pieces.
We invite world-renowned artists and experimenting creators.

We avoid current themes – we shun the mundane.
We search for metaphysics in the theatre, we touch upon the universal.

We are interested in man and the matter that surrounds him. We call upon contemporary fetishes: masks, puppets, shadows. We animate objects, we transgress corporality.
